From SEO Landing Pages To Full Website Copy
Writing websites is one of my greatest joys as a creative copywriter. It’s not just about taking work off my clients’ plates—it’s about learning who they are as a business, what they’re passionate about, and how I can make their brand personality shine throughout their sales content.
There are three key creative elements I incorporate in every webpage I write: clear messaging that sparks immediate action, search engine optimization (SEO) and personalized language that’s authentic to your brand.
Here’s some of my favorite webpages & websites I wrote the copy for!
Personalized & Friendly Brand Voices (DTC)
Claire is a Morning Routine Coach and Motivational Speaker. Writing her homepage was a super fun challenge! It required mastering her very specific brand voice which is upbeat, has a quick and quirky cadence, and lots of stylized grammar choices.
I’ve written MANY landing pages for Chambers Music Studio to help improve their SEO and audience reach. This particular landing page for voice lessons is one of my favorites, and is a great example of what a classic landing page should include.
Ditch The Mix’s dessert tray service page was a super sweet project! I just loved incorporating the personal voice of their founder, Miranda O’Dell, into this new webpage. (Lots of humor, nostalgia, and delicious product descriptions.)
Industry-Specific Brand Voices (BTB)
SRMC was ready to give their website a total revamp, bringing it into the current decade. This large-scale project had two clear goals: to freshen-up the copy, and streamline the client experience. This was achieved by reorganizing the copy that already existed, rewriting the CTAs to be clearer and more actionable, and emphasizing SRMC’s industry-leading experience. (Design completed by: Brave Little Beast.)
As a self-proclaimed theatre kid, this website rebrand project was a dream come true. Local brand design agency, Nonfiction, asked me to polish-off the final copy for their new website that truly captured their mission. Together we punched-up the headlines and important body copy provided by their internal team to give their brand a heart-centered and action-focused voice.
E-Commerce Product Descriptions
If you couldn’t already tell, I’ve written a lot for the dog product industry. (If you’re wondering what that was like, check out my blog!)
When it comes to product descriptions for e-commerce, I often find the dog-centric copy I’ve written provides the clearest example of how I combine creative writing with sales strategy to create copy that is both effective and evocative of emotions. And when it comes to selling products, emotion is everything.
You want your potential clients/customers to know you get them. You understand their joys as well as their pain points. You’re selling them more than just your product or service, but on the feeling it will give them. For dog products, that feeling is simple: it’s the joy of playing with your dog, and making your dog’s day.
Second to emotion, the next most important part of a product description is Search Engine Optimization. The following descriptions I wrote for BARK are great examples of how I include searchable keywords and phrases in my clients’ web copy while keeping the brand voice fun, fresh, and full of emotion.
Muttcracker Latte
